The sanctuary (1)            The sanctuary (2)            Statue of Our Lady

The heart of our Chaplaincy, our source of intimate contact with the Lord.

The Blessed Sacrament is reserved here and you can drop in any time for a quiet moment of prayer.

Our Chapel contains two side chapels one dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the other to Our Lady of the Miraculous medal.  In the sanctuary there are highly carved oak altar rails and a matching reredos both are 19th century gothic revival.  The rails depict the Table of Shewbread, The Ark of the Covenant, the Manna from Heaven and the Agnus Dei.  The altar features three carved oak reliefs that are pre-reformation in date.  The centre relief depicts the flight of the Holy Family into Egypt and the reliefs either side portray two unidentified saintly men.  The altar is consecrated and contains the relics of St Therese of Lisieux and St Dominic Savio (both are "White Martyrs").  The Chapel really is a quiet place of contemplation in the heart of the university open all day for private prayer.
